Toong cooperates with Indochina Vanguard Hotels for Wink Hotels

March 19, 2018

Ho Chí Minh City, 19/03/2018Toong co-working spaces to be located in newly-built Wink Hotels, with the first scheduled to open in HCMC late next year.

Toong, the pioneer in co-working spaces in Vietnam, and Indochina Vanguard, a hospitality joint venture between Indochina Capital and Vanguard Hotels, have announced a partnership to locate Toong co-working spaces in newly-built Wink Hotels, the first of which is scheduled to open in Ho Chi Minh City in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The partnership will allow the clientele of both Wink hotel and Toong to enjoy the advantages of a co-working space while meeting the needs of a new generation of “connected” travelers. It also creates a platform for business travelers, digital nomads, and burgeoning entrepreneurs to expand their network and meet other like-minded individuals when visiting a new city. The collaborative spirit that a Toong facility encapsulates suits the target demographic of Wink Hotels, making it the ideal partnership.

“By integrating Toong co-working space facilities into this dynamic new chain of ho chi minh hotels, we expect to reform the way business centers operate,” said Mr. Duong Do, Founder and CEO of Toong. “When business centers are designed with the fashionable and inspirational mindset of a co-working space, they will better meet the expectations of this modern working style.”

Wink Hotels, a concept developed by Indochina Vanguard, is a vibrant new hotel brand that seeks to redefine affordable luxury in Vietnam and Indochina. Blending modern, creative design and functionality with traditional Vietnamese design and cultural values, each hotel promises to satisfy the young-at-heart traveler’s contemporary desires.

Indochina Vanguard intends to roll-out 20 Wink Hotels in Vietnam and neighboring countries over the next five years. Toong co-working spaces embody these ideals and will be integrated harmoniously with the innovative service ecosystem of Wink Hotels, catering to the new age of travelers and entrepreneurs.

Toong announced its first foray into the international market two weeks ago, with plans to open a new location in Vientiane, Laos. Although Wink Hotels will initially focus on becoming the market leader in Vietnam in this particular hospitality market segment, Indochina Vanguard has aspirations to expand the Wink Hotels brand into neighboring countries in the coming years.

“Integrating Wink Hotels into Toong’s large co-working space network will benefit both Toong members and Wink Hotel guests,” Mr. Duong explained. “The intersection of both communities will be a boon for both Wink and Toong patrons, taking advantage of our respective locations in major cities throughout Vietnam as well as our presence in secondary cities and neighboring countries.”

The expansion of Toong coincides with current market trends and the development of the modern office space market. According to Ms. Hoang Dieu Trang, Senior Manager, Commercial Leasing, at Savills Hanoi, co-working will continue to grow to match economic demand and the evolution of the way millennials work. “The co-working model in Vietnam has room for development to cater to the commercial space needs of the growing entrepreneurial class,” she said.

Toong is the first co-working space chain in Vietnam with modern and high-quality work environments for individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). After two years of operations, it has opened six outlets in major cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. Expansion came about shortly after Toong received investment capital from Open Asia and Indochina Capital and became a strategic partner of one of Asia’s largest real estate groups, CapitaLand.

It has also created strategic partnerships with prestigious brands such as United Overseas Bank (UOB) and International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore), with the aim of building an effective platform for enterprises in Southeast Asia.

Wink Hotels is a new hospitality brand emerging in Indochina that takes a bold approach to affordable luxury in the region. The brand caters to modern, aspirational travelers, offering high-quality experiences that are grounded in the local destination. Wink Hotels is the first hotel product of Indochina Vanguard Hotels Pte Ltd, a joint venture established in 2016 between Indochina Capital, an innovative leader in Vietnam’s rapidly growing real estate, financial services and capital markets, and the Singapore-based Vanguard Hotels Pte Ltd.
